Winter is just around the corner and with the right women’s motorcycle boots and women’s riding gear you can extend your motorcycle-riding season and stay relatively dry, warm and comfortable.

Even though the days are getting shorter, the leaves are changing colors and the temperature is dropping, you don’t have to park your motorcycle and prep it for the long winter months ahead. What it does mean though is, its time to get set up for riding in the cold and rain.

The first thing you will want to be sure and have is a good pair of motorcycle boots for women and a set of watertight boot covers
. You might want to consider buying a separate pair of women’s motorcycle boots one size larger just for cooler riding so you can wear a pair of socks to keep your feet nice and toasty.

Next, you will most definitely need a good set of women’s leather chaps. You can also get women’s chap’s that are lined for riding your motorcycle on really cold days. Women’s leather motorcycle pants are a warm and comfortable alternative to women’s chaps. Although leather pants are not as easy to get in and out of, if the weather turns warm, you will be stuck wearing them for the entire ride.

I would recommend a women’s motorcycle jacket that comes with a removable liner, so on days that aren’t too chilly you can remove the lining and then zip it back in on the really cold days. Although if you’re not into leather you can also buy a mesh or heated motorcycle jacket.

Having set of motorcycle rain gear will be a God send if your out on the road, its cold and it begins to rain. A good quality rain gear set will keep you dry and warm when you’re doing
sixty-five and it begins to pour. Just store them in your saddlebags and you will be ready for that surprise rain shower.

motorcycle gloves are not an option any time you go motorcycle riding. Many women riders opt to go with fingerless gloves for the warmer months. However, during the colder riding season a nice warm pair of lined lambskin long cuff gloves will keep your hands toasty. You might want to bring along a light pair of motorcycle gloves to change into just incase it gets warmer and your hands begin to sweat. If you want to go high-tech, you can get a pair of women’s battery heated motorcycle gloves.

Remember to always wear layers when you dress to go for a long fall or winter ride. You can always take off a sweater
or sweatshirt and store it in your saddlebags or strap it to your rack if it turns out to be a nice and warm day after all. In addition, you should always remember to bring along an sweatshirt or sweater just in case the temperature drops and it gets to cold. Because when you are cold, you can lose concentration and control of your motorcycle.

A turtleneck sweater is always a good option when dressing for cold weather riding. You should also utilize nice wool or fleece neck scarf
. An under helmet hood or a motorcycle facemask is also a very good idea to bring along on your cold weather motorcycle trip. If you start your ride and it is not to cold out then turns cold later, you can always make a quick pit stop and bundle up.

Vision is one of the most important safety aspects of motorcycling in any weather. Therefore, a good thing to have for a warm or not so warm weather motorcycle trip is a good pair of polarized, padded and vented sunglasses or goggles. Anti-fog goggles are the best choice to buy when the temperature drops. It is also wise for your set of motorcycle goggles or sunglasses to have inner-changeable lenses. Many a rider have gone on a day trip and stayed out just a tad to long, wishing they could change the lenses of their goggles from the dark lens to a lighter or clear lens for night riding.

The last thing but not the least important thing is keeping your head warm. Whether you choose to ware a motorcycle helmet or not, the best thing in the world for keeping your ears and head warm is a women’s motorcycle helmet. Although, it is always a very good idea to ware a helmet,
it is especially good to ware one on those late fall and cold winter rides. They do say that you lose most of your body heat out from the top of your head. Believe me, riding on a cold day with nothing but a stocking cap or under helmet hood on your head can be miserable, and at the very least, you can end up with a very bad cold out of the deal.

If you plan and properly dress for the cold, you can have just as much fun riding your motorcycle all year round. Just remember fall and winter riding starts with the right motorcycle boots for women.
